As part of Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale campaign, NYC Food bloggers are joining forces this Saturday the 17th in what should be one of the largest bake sales ever. Head to the Brooklyn Flea between 10am and 5pm, and you’ll find a variety of homemade goodies for sale, the proceeds of which will go towards ending childhood hunger. You’ll find vegan brownies made by Chris from the skint, cranberry trail mix and chocolate peanut butter bars from Elina at The Naked Beet, and pig candy cookies (what?) from Siobhan at Blondie and Brownie. For a complete list of participating bloggers, check out The JLH Life, run by Jacquie who will be serving up some homemade nutella! If you can’t make it out to the Brooklyn Flea, don’t fret: enter your zip code here to find a Great American Bake Sale happening near you!
Share Our Strength’s annual campaign encourages people to hold bake sales in their local communities to raise money towards their good fight of ending childhood hunger in America. A shocking 1 out of 4 children in America are hungry and while we can argue semantics in terms of what “hungry” really means, it’s still an unacceptable number.
