I just received a last minute notice about this incredibly important fundraiser happening tonight. In the aftermath of Irene, Vermont continues to rebuild what is left of their communities. Please see below for information, and head to Sidebar at 7pm tonight to make your contribution, 100% of which will go directly toward local aid via the Disaster Relief Fund set up by The Stratton Foundation.
“Though many are aware that Hurricane Irene hit Vermont with force, few have seen or can imagine the actual damage done. In southern VT, the area surrounding Stratton Mountain, Irene caused rivers to rage. Flash flooding pulled homes from their foundations, destroyed bridges and roads, and in some areas left entire communities in shambles. While power has mostly been restored, and roadwork begins, the communities affected will need far more assistance to rebuild. As we’ve seen with Katrina, what the government can do is never enough.
In an effort to support local communities and aid the restoration process, the Stratton Foundation has established the Disaster Relief Fund, where 100% of the proceeds will go directly toward local aid for restoration of communities and families affected by Hurricane Irene.
Please come join your fellow New Yorkers who care about the Southern Vermont community, for a night out to benefit the Disaster Relief Fund.”

- Minimum donation of $50 at the door, though additional contributions are certainly welcome
- Open bar and food served from 7-9 P.M.
- Post 9 P.M cash bar will begin, where 10% of proceeds will be contributed to Disaster Relief Fund
- Raffle tickets for items including Ski and Stay packages at Stratton and Whistler Blackcomb, a Cooper single speed bike, and others will be sold throughout the evening
