School might be back in session but that doesnt mean you have to run inside for your fall coats. Pack some snacks for you and the kids, and join ioby and Whole Foods for a day of service in the great outdoors.
The details from Whole Foods:
“Before we head into fall and back indoors, join all seven New York City Whole Foods Market stores for a morning of giving back while enjoying the great outdoors! All kids are welcome as we spend the morning beautifying Morningside Park while also getting creative with fun games and a project created by our partner, ioby. ioby’s mission is to deepen civic engagement in cities (like New York City!) by connecting individuals directly to community-led, neighbor-funded environmental projects in their neighborhood.
Older kids will be invited to participate in weeding, planting, trash pickup and more, while younger kids will take part in an interactive activity where they re-imagine what they want their neighborhood to look like. Whether it be more playgrounds, trees, parks, our friends at ioby will help them draw the ideas on large posters that will be hung around the park on wooden stakes. Following all of our hard work, kids (and grown-ups!) will have a chance to “eat the rainbow” as we like to say, with a build-your-own salad bar, plus all of the fixings, in honor of the Whole Kids Foundation.”
